Inzon

Cefoperazone Sodium

Short Description

INZON is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, marketed by Pfizer under the name Cefobid. It is one of few cephalosporin antibiotics effective in treating Pseudomonas bacterial infections which are otherwise resistant to these antibiotics.

Indications

Parenteral

Susceptible infections

Adult: As sodium: 2-4 g daily in 2 divided doses, increased to 12 g daily in 2-4 divided doses for severe infections given as deep IM or IV infusion.

Renal Impairment

W/ hepatic impairment: 1-2 g daily.

Hepatic Impairment

Max for hepatic impairment or biliary obstruction: 4 g daily. W/ renal impairment: 1-2 g daily.
