Ketorolac Tromethamine

Short Description

ETOFION is used for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe pain in adults. It is usually used before or after medical procedures or after surgery. Reducing pain helps you recover more comfortably so that you can return to your normal daily activities. This medication is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking your body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflamation. This effect helps to decrease swelling, pain, or fever.

Indications

IM/IV:

Postoperative pain

Adult:

Moderate to severe: Initially, 10 mg, followed by 10-30 mg 4-6 hrly as needed (up to 2 hrly during initial post-op period) by IM or IV bolus over ≥15 seconds. Max: 90 mg daily. Max duration: 2 days. Elderly: Max: 60 mg daily.

Renal Impairment

Mild: Max: 60 mg daily. Moderate to severe: Contraindicated
